Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent)
- This visa category is essential for offshore/ onshore individuals intending to permanently settle down in Australia
- Lodge the application and be invited to apply
- It is also called the General Skilled Migrant visa
- Applicant is allowed to live in any part of Australia
- The applicant under this category is granted a permanent residency for 5 years
- This visa category is an unconditional visa category that allows an applicant to live, study and work
- This visa allows the applicant to enroll in Medicare Australia’s scheme for health-related care and expenses

Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated)
- This Visa is for skilled workers who are nominated by a state/territory in Australia.
- The Individual under this category will be granted a Permanent Resident (PR) for 5 years.
- An Additional 5 points will be awarded by the State under this category.
- The Applicant under this category has to live and work in a nominated state at least for 2 years.
Eligibility
- To qualify for this type of visa the nominated occupation should be listed in the state occupation list.
- A positive skill assessment from a relevant designated body.
- Meet the pass mark in the skilled migration point test – currently 60 points which will also include 5 points from the state, when invited
- Competent English language proficiency and higher

Subclass 489 (Skilled Regional-Provisional)

- This Visa is for skilled workers who are nominated by a Regional in Australia.
- The Individual under this category will be granted a Temporary Resident (PR) for 3 years.
- An Additional 10 points will be awarded by the Regional under this category.
- The Applicant under this category has to live and work in specified regional areas in Australia.
- The individual should have at least competent English.

- This visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers who wish to work in Regional Australia.
- The applicant can be in/ outside Australia
- These types of visas will allow the Applicant to work in Australia under one of three streams.

- This type of visa is issued to the Applicants who have lived and worked in specified areas of regional Australia
- This Visa is a Permanent Residence
- This type of visa is granted for 5 years.
