UK Family Visas
i) Apply to join family living permanently in the UK
This visa is for applicants living outside of the EU and EEA countries that have a family settled in UK.
Eligibility
• must be over 18 years unless applying as a child
• must prove that it is a genuine relationship
• must prove that the applicant will live with the family member/ partner in the UK
• must provide proof of residence
• must have IELTS ( unless applying as an adult dependent relative)
• must provide documents proving financial stability
Process
• must apply online with all supporting documents
• have biometric information taken at a visa application center
• pay fees and health surcharge

ii) Ancestry Visa
This visa can be applied for by a Commonwealth citizen who can prove that one of the grandparent was born in the UK. The visa stamping is for a 5 year period and can be extended for another 5 years.
Eligibility
• must be over 17 years
• must intend to work in the UK
• must have financial stability to support self and dependents
• must have full birth certificate & marriage certificate
• must have full birth certificate and marriage certificates of the parent/ grandparent the ancestry claim is based on
• must also have documents like the passport, color photographs and medical certificate
